My dear Rio,

The day you came into my life, my senses multiplied. I felt something so primal inside me, almost like an instinct, where a deep protection over you suddenly awakened in my whole being. It was a completely different feeling to want to protect you from everything around you.

In that moment, I felt the greatest excitement and joy, knowing that one day I would be able to see you, hold you, embrace you, and ultimately love you unconditionally. I remember thinking about it and even doubting if it would really happen, because the feeling was overwhelming and frightening at the same time. It was hard to grasp that there was a human life growing inside me that I had created.

Life did not unfold the way I once imagined. There were moments when I questioned this decision and wondered if everything would be worth it. But something important changed inside me when I became your mother. You became my new beginning, my new chapter, my new life. Because of you, I learned what true love really means. In the middle of uncertainty, I discovered a love strong enough that I knew I was ready to fight for it. You showed me that love can move mountains, because a mother’s love stands at the very top of all the love in this world.

Being your mother has taught me strength and perseverance that I could not even fully grasp within myself before. But when you came into my life, I realized that it was always possible for me to become stronger. You gave my life a deeper meaning, and because of you, I discovered a strength I never knew I had.

Every day I try to become the best version of myself for you. I promise to impart wisdom to you, my son. I promise to guide you when life becomes confusing and difficult to understand. I promise to protect your heart and your mind, and to teach you the value of peace. Even when life becomes difficult, I will always remind you that life is still beautiful and always worth fighting for.

I want you to always know that you will never be alone. Wherever you are in the world, there will always be me, your mother, standing with you in spirit and in love. Your life is precious and will always be precious.
